Should do the job, I have a weaker cheap one that can handle 4mm corrugated plastic (essentially durable plastic shipping box material ) mine says max thickness 3mm but it handles the 4mm corrugated plastic with a bit difficulty but gets the job done. This one says 6mm and shows carpet.I bet it destroys the thickest of shipping boxes. Good price too. Wish I didn't already have one

thats what i want it for my senior mom for shipping boxes. but no luck not availble

I have the same type of tool, it ultimately takes more time to cut up boxes with this than a box cutter, and it's frustrating at times trying to get it to bite properly into the cardboard. I've heard they're good for cutting leather and some other materials so I kept it... And have never ended up using it since.
