This looks like Canon took two spotting scopes and slapped them together. I imagine with the case it would be rather bulky.

i was thinking same thing.. Mine were $1100 and developed a terribly sticky surface.. I sent them in for warranty to fix the sticky rubber that vulcanized and they told me I abused them by touching them after I put on sun tan lotion and stored them in a high humidity environment.. I had only used them a few times and they were always handled with care (not greasy hands) and always put them back up in my cool dark closet in the case.. I will never buy another cannon product again.. for those that are on the fence with these, just google "cannon binoculars sticky rubber" ..
