But since both laptops are completely different and different prices (the Alienware is 50% more than this LG), it's like asking "which is a better deal -- a really nice bicycle that is half off or a Tesla Cybertruck that is half off". Which one gives you the best value for your money?
Community Reviews
The LG gram 17 stands out as a very light, long battery life 17 inch laptop for productivity, travel, and general use. The Lunar Lake Core Ultra 7, 32GB of RAM, and 1TB SSD make it feel like a strong generalist machine, and the integrated graphics can handle light gaming and even some older or less demanding titles at lower resolutions. The big tradeoff is the display, which is only 60Hz and 320 nits, so brightness and gaming smoothness are not its strengths. It is best suited to portable work, not high resolution gaming.
Traveling professionals who need a large-screen workstation, because it stays light, lasts all day, and handles productivity apps comfortably.
Strategy-game players who are fine lowering resolution, because the integrated graphics can run lighter titles smoothly and AAA games at reduced settings.
Mobile traders who want a roomy display for charts, because the CPU is strong for everyday productivity and the laptop stays portable.
People replacing a heavy 17-inch machine, because this one is much easier to carry while still offering a big screen.
Gamers who want high-resolution play, because the integrated graphics struggle at the native QHD screen resolution.
People who spend all day on bright screens, because the display is only 320 nits and can feel dim in daily use.
Shoppers who want a gaming laptop, because this model is explicitly positioned as a general-purpose machine instead of a gaming rig.
Competitive shooter players, because the integrated graphics are not suited to demanding online AAA games.

That said, pairing this CPU/GPU with a 17" screen at QHD isn't the best since few modern games will have great frame rates at QHD on this iGPU. This GPU pairs best with a 14" 1080 OLED. But you can run games at lower resolution than the native resolution, so it isn't the end of the world.
