Instead, get an instant tent that can be set up in 2 minutes. It costs a bit more, but total game-changer.

Good price. I bought mine heavily discounted at overton's during Memorial Day weekend and it was still $119 after tax and shipping.

This size they are like 2-3x the price though? I dont really consider that a "bit more"

We had another kid, and the first one moved from a pack and play to an air mattress. I moved to a Coleman 12 person. 20x9'. So room to play and all the gear. This 8 worked well for us, but we just wanted more room for the kids. Figured if they we're going to sleep with us until they are old enough to move on their own, might as well upgrade now so we can get more use out of the new one.

I handed down this one to my parents who upgraded from a 6 person coleman skydome. They love it, room to stand up, and put an extra chair inside up help then get dressed.

My dad gave us this tent years ago. He must have bought it around 2010 or so. After sitting in my shed for 5 years we busted it out for a camping trip this April and it still set up with no issues. We had a queen air mattress on one side, a full on the other and room in the middle for bags, shoes, whatever. With rain cover off it also feels quite open.

What's better, Montana or Skydome? Seems like this takes 15 minutes to setup versus Skydome's 5 minute setup

I usually never comment but I feel obligated on this one since I have a lot of experience with this tent. Hope this helps anyone in need.

Overall, this tent is a great entry level tent. It was my first tent ever with the family and it endured so many difficult weathers from the rain in forests to high wind desert storms in Death Valley. No tears yet. However, there are some cons. First is the lack of windows and ventilation. It's very very hot esp in warm weather. Being a dome shape, it's great in high winds but drawback is that the walls will slap you in the face while sleeping. The door also oftentimes gets stuck.

It's a no thrill durable tent and would recommend it if you're on a budget and need a large tent.
