Have not tried with a bear, but squirrel, raccoon, opossum, dog, cat all show up as pet alerts. Sometimes an occasional mystery floater gets detected as a pet but thats at night and rare

Isolate the camera system from the internet. Treat it as if it were a closed circuit. Have it on its own VLAN.
Hardware setup would be Cameras > NVR > VLAN (Managed Switch/Router)
If you must have remote viewing access, I would not rely on vendor-branded apps, and ideally, these would not work anyway due to the closed access of your camera network. You do have options available to you, such as using Tailscale/VPN that you set up, but again, you need to be tech-savvy.

For context: We have a two storey 2000 sq feet home that is not prewired for ethernet access and will be needing about 8 cameras for complete coverage. We're definitely going to look at something that'll completely be wifi jammer proof since we didn't know that was even a thing until now.
