Community Reviews

The Panasonic Z8 OLED stands out as a 77 inch set with strong picture quality, excellent processing, and unusually good built in sound, with some calling the audio good enough to skip a soundbar. It also gets praise for gaming at 144Hz and for handling HDR10 plus and Dolby Vision, while the larger size is a clear upgrade over smaller TVs. The main cautions are that it shines best in dimmer rooms and that the brand's future ownership has raised warranty and long term support questions. A compelling option if you want a big OLED with serious audio.

  • Movie watchers in moderately dim rooms who want strong built-in audio, because the picture is praised and the speakers can be good enough to skip a soundbar.

    Fuzb0Grayson73Enlightened0n3

  • Viewers who prefer a large 77-inch screen, because the size jump is immediately noticeable and the bigger panel feels worth it.

    azndan2hotrokr909Enlightened0n3

  • Console and PC gamers who want 144Hz support, because it handles gaming well and the refresh rate meets expectations.

    Fuzb0

  • Home theater buyers who want HDR10+ and Dolby Vision in one OLED, because it supports both formats and can preserve detail in mixed HDR libraries.

    Enlightened0n3

  • Buyers comparing against the strongest competing OLEDs for pure picture value, because it is repeatedly weighed against cheaper or better-scoring alternatives.

    TheKingofDealsMellowCatfish6336Grayson73

  • Shoppers with very bright living rooms, because the panel is described as best in rooms that are not very bright.

    Grayson73

  • People who want a lighter TV to move or mount alone, because the set is reported to be extremely heavy.

Haven't owned a Panasonic TV since they made plasma TVs. This seems like a good price for the size. Are they still a good brand?

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

The Panasonic has a great picture and the sound is fantastic. I'm tempted to get another. The 144hz does all I hoped on pc and console gaming.

The sound though really seals it. No need for an additional soundbar and that setup . Built in stuff works so well!

This is best if your room is not very bright, and it has really good built-in speakers. I'd also use it with Apple TV 4K or Roku

Yes, but this is probably their last year of selling TVs. They will likely sell their name to some Chinese company who will sell low quality sets with their name.

Already happened in April. Will have to wait and see what Skyworth does with the brand name.

Ex wife threw something and broke my Panasonic Plasma a little over a year ago. Had to dig out the Pioneer Pro 151 from the garage. Needing something to send it back into retirement. This one might work

I got this a few months back at $1300. Overall I'm very satisfied with it. I came from an LG C1 55" (that I paid $1100 for) and this TV is a little better than that. It's a great deal.
