About 24 dollars per tb which kinda beats most drive prices these days

True, but prices may normalize. Although I recently heard they are trying to make it harder for us to have personal computers and are moving towards a subscription based system where you have a login terminal but no hardware.

Prices are high but they are not going back to normal anytime soon. It takes hydrogen and special metals to produce these hard drives, and we are seeing shortages due to the strait of Hormuz being closed. Then you have tariffs, production cuts, data center consumption of pc parts, and even inflation that increases the price. Every economic metric we have indicates a continual trend of price increase in the future, not a decline.

Anyways, I might get a 22tb drive if I can find a way to get one of these coupons to work for 10% off.

I am always left in awe about how clueless the average person is of the world economy and how things get delivered to their front door. They seem to think it's magic and supply chains are there forever and will never falter. They seem to believe all that bad stuff that happens in the world, always happens somewhere else, and they will forever remain completely unaffected by it. They seem to think that manufactures changing their supply chains will never hurt the individual consumer. They seem to think that supply and demand is not something that dictates an items price at one time, but rather a price at its lowest which will always be pursued for the slimiest of profit margins.

The average person is willfully ignorant and lives in a world I wish I could live in.

if you're lucky and the drive fails, you can always sue them in small claims after they deny warranty because they no longer have stock. a win win.
