Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna in water is a budget-friendly skipjack tuna deal that also appears to work on solid white albacore and some oil-packed variants. The comments highlight coupon stacking, including a 5 off 25 promotion that brought two packs to $24. Skipjack is described as more flavorful and saltier than some other brands, though the texture can be mushy rather than flaky. Dented cans are a recurring concern, and refund handling appears inconsistent. A practical pick if you want inexpensive tuna and do not mind checking the can condition.

I've always preferred the taste and texture of White Albacore, but it has higher levels of mercury than Skipjack. If you eat tuna regularly, you should probably be eating Skipjack. https://mamavation.com/food/tuna-...guide.html

Its not the brand that makes it better. It's the species of tuna thats in the can. This is all skipjack tuna which is the lowest grade tuna you can get. Albacore is 10 times better than skipjack. Both Starkist and Bumblebee sell both skipjack and albacore. How do you tell which is which? If it doesn't say Albacore on the can it's skipjack. Your welcome.

Most people prefer the taste and texture of Albacore. Its the better quality tuna. Skipjack is garbage in comparison. How do you tell the difference? The easiest way to tell is If the can doesn't say albacore on it, its skip jack. The taste and texture of albacore is way better than skipjack. Its a more premium fish. They don't even serve skipjack tuna as an entree in most seafood restaurants. You can also get sashimi grade raw albacore at a sushi place, but if they serve skipjack its mostly cooked with just a slightly raw center. It's just not a quality fish.

If the cans are dented, they will not authorize a refund.
That's not true. The refund my dented cans all the time. I don't know if it makes a difference but I make about 5 to 700 purchases a year *(306 total and counting this year)from amazon for the past 10 years and am in the Amazon vine program. When something comes dented, they refund me or ship new ones and tell me to keep the dented cans. They never want me to ship them back.

My last case of Bumble Bee skipjack tuna wasn't flaky (was mushy). I recently purchased the Chicken of the Sea skipjack and it's the exact same consisency as the Bumbe Bell. I would even state that Bumbee Bee was more flavorful (or at least had a level saltiness to it which my recent batch of Chicken of the Sea does not). My next case will be Bumble Bee.
