Interesting to see how much more efficient a dual hose unit is when comparing these 2...
This single hose "12,000 BTU" unit only effectively cools at 7000 BTU (see the "DOE" BTU rating in specs)
Hisense dual hose "10,000 BTU" unit cools effectively at 8000 BTU DOE.
Essentially this single hose has 12k BTU of "raw" cooling capacity, but also heats the room by 5000 BTU, while the Hisense has 10k BTU of "raw" cooling capacity but heats the room by 2000 BTU.
Portable ACs by their nature will spill some heat into the room, but the single hose is much worse since it exhausts interior air, causing hot, humid, outdoor air to be drawn back inside to replace it. (anything that exhausts air causes an equal amount of air to be drawn back in, from somewhere.)
