Despite starting with an Ender 3 V2 myself, I've written off Creality printers after seeing reports of officially branded K1 upgrade accessories frying people's printers, and Creality telling people, "your printer is out of warranty; buy a new printer."
I went on to build a Voron Trident, and haven't looked back. No vendor lock-in, coupled with having complete control over the printer with no manufacturer software lockout BS is a beautiful combination.
Oh, and you can still print PETG without worrying about fumes, that is mostly a concern with ABS.
sometimes I wanna dust off my old heavily modded ender 3, and then I see how crazy these things have gotten since and I'm just like "would I rather buy a new one than recalibrate all this old crap like I have to?"
I bought a refurbished k2 plus and its honestly the best thing put there. In terms of creality cloud it might not be makerworld but there are some great prints out there.
If I was in the market for this grade of printer I would get a Anycubic Kobra X and put it in a tent. Granted you give up a number of perks that come with purchasing through Costco.
This has some nice upgrades over the P1s. This isn't discontinuing that the Bambu is a very solid printer, just saying this did have advantages like the better screen, heated chamber and an actually better AMS system.
4th gen printers are right around the corner. They will have 4-8 tool changing heads for different materials/colors and on-the-fly visual/AI adjustments.

I don't blame you, but my ender 3 v3 Ke has been outrageously good for a bed slinger. Nozzle seems to just last forever.

Have to agree with this. The software lockout part especially.

I own both of these printers and I'd go with the kobra x. Nothing against the k2 at all - I have >1300 hrs on mine... But I found the kobra x to be a great printer that's frequently on sale, has easier to find aftermarket parts and has a pretty good user community (as far as mods are concerned).
i got the P1S Bambu combo for the same price from Best Buy. Love the Bambu Handy app integration
Ahh nice. So you think if I have other non techy people in the house, they could use the bamboo? That is why I keep leaning towards them versus others.
