What do you mean? It's never streamed before, and it is finally on AMC+ (what a joke it never streamed on HBO Max), and it doesn't look that good. So they put it out now after all this time just to add better res later? Source?
Is there a source for this? I'm extremely skeptical. Feel like they would already be streaming it in 4k since they have been streaming it there. For 2.85 a season I'll gamble on this, loved this show when I was younger.

AI is telling me a restoration is extremely unlikely, and no announcement to do so has been made. And the Shutter streaming is of DVD quality, I don't see anything on a quick search showing that there's a noticeable increase in video quality pointing to some type of mild HD restoration of any type.
Anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't see a risk in buying this SD set, at least from the standpoint of a beautiful video quality update coming out in the next 10 years.

Even if it did come out, it ain't going to be this cheap.I don't want to subscribe to another streaming service just to watch these. Finally, I don't mind the resolution. Makes it a little bit nostalgic
Google says "Due to the lack of an official studio restoration, fans and archivists have taken preservation into their own hands. The 1080p and 4K AI-upscaled fan edits that circulate online offer a massive upgrade to the picture quality over the standard-definition DVD transfers"
Pretty sad also that it looks like it's HD on Apple and only SD here. way to go!
Apple does list it as HD, but Google says "The classic 1989 HBO series Tales from the Crypt streams in standard definition (SD) at 480p resolution on Apple TV. Because it was originally shot on film and mastered for late-20th century television, the aspect ratio remains its traditional 4:3 (1.33:1), which will appear with pillarbox bars on the sides of modern widescreen TVs."

Is there a YouTube channel, or a link to actually get anything like that? That'd be amazing.
