I recommend getting the other two as well. DKB is my favorite 3d "platformer" since the Mario Galaxy games, and with MKW getting free DLC (more KO races) it's a no brainer. Wait for a sale though. Takes the sting out of that price tag.

When filtering on current US specific games, there are 98 Switch 2 games at this time (7/14/26). Of those, only 35 have physical game on cartridge release. The rest are code in box or key cards. You can expect this pattern of the majority of games to be digital only to continue. Additional note - only 18 of the 98 Switch 2 games are Nintendo specific.
One might also consider the average Nintendo Switch 2 game cost - between 60 and 80 dollars standard, with Nintendo exclusives touching the higher end of that range.
Two switch 2 consoles for your kid where each gets their own Pokemon Pokopia game? 900 + tax for the consoles (until they raise prices in a couple of months per Nintendo's threat), 140 + tax for the two games. Oh, and even if you get those as physical releases, it's just a game key card.
