"...fan running, it's not distracting once a movie starts playing."
"...fan doesn't distract from the movie experience."
I found some videos of it, but on them the blower motor is a seperate unit on the outside and the one in the photos show it on the "inside" of the screen so it might be a smaller motor - not sure. Here's a video but my guess is it would be more quiet in person. It probably is just a white noise. https://youtu.be/DZn4RedEfE0?si=j...JytF&t=384
This 14 foot inflatable movie screen is aimed at casual backyard and pool movie nights, especially with a basic projector. The 168 inch diagonal is described as plenty large for typical family use, and the blower noise is said to fade into white noise once the movie starts. The main cautions are size confusion, since the actual viewing area is closer to 114 inches or about 8 by 4 feet, and the fan sits inside with power running to it, so it should not be used in a pool. A practical option if you want a simple outdoor setup without chasing a giant screen.
Families using a basic projector for backyard movie nights, because the 114-inch screen is large enough for typical outdoor viewing and the fan noise fades into the movie.
The actual viewing area is about 8.3 x 4.4 ft, or roughly 114 inches, rather than a full 14-foot-wide image. The 168-inch figure refers to the diagonal, so it is still large for backyard or kid movie nights but smaller than the headline can imply.
Yes, it can be a good match for many $100-class projectors and typical family backyard use. Larger screens can push projector brightness and image quality harder, so this size is often the practical sweet spot for pool nights or football season.
The blower is noticeable at startup, but it reportedly fades into background white noise once the movie begins. The motor may be an internal unit rather than the external blower shown in some videos, which could affect how loud it seems in person.
I should try the sheet or wall options before I invest in this
Absolutely. You can get a few pieces of PVC, a few bungees, and projector screen material. Probably run you about half what this does, but you can get it exactly the size you want, no running fan, and the results will probably be better.
When you are talking about diagonals, nearly half a foot in both measurements (literally) adds up.And yes, it is sMaLl projector screen if you are doing outdoor movie nights your entire mega church's congregation. Most people (like someone else alluded to) aren't projecting to that levels nor could most budget projectors handle that. We also aren't dragging out multi thousand dollar projectors into the grass (not to mention taking them down from our IMAX home theater setup) An 8 foot tall screen...approximately is still massive for your average kid's movie night. But you do you
Exactly. For most people with $100 projector and a family This is more than adequate. Obviously you can always buy a more expensive projector and a much larger screen and if that's what you want to do no one is stopping you. It's like somebody hating on a Honda Civic saying it's small and slow. Obviously it's not for you. No one is saying this projector screen is the best screen or the biggest screen but it's $67. Can you buy a 20 foot projector screen for $67? For $100? I think this would be amazing out by the pool for football season coming up. You can watch the game outside with the family and friends, cook on the grill and have a good time.

LOL...100%. That reminds me. Years ago I used to have a Smart Car due to a long commute and high gas prices (and before EV's really had the range to handle that distance...at least in a price point I wanted to pay). I swear 25% of the time when getting gas some dude one walk up to me, unprompted, and start pretending to ask questions about the silly little car. 30 seconds later he was basically having an argument with me why I should have bought an SUV / truck / 4 door car because of some absurd projected use case he had. Heard everything from transporting my pretend kids and all their pretend friends to pretend soccer, transporting pretend lumber from Home Depot, pulling a pretend trailer, not having the cargo space for a pretend huge trip to Costco...whatever. They didn't care about my use case, for my car, just their hypothetical one I should have, thus measured it against.
FWIW, I had 3 other vehicles at the time....and a full size trailer. A 3/4 ton pickup, a SUV, and a 4 door (no joke)....Honda Civic. All of which could handle the projected (pun intended) problem the absurd little 3 cylinder car couldn't solve, nor did I need it to.
TLDR; I survived the Smart Car, and I am sure 99% of us will survive a tiny 8' tall screen for backyard movie night.
