I don't think this is entirely correct, given the newer cells are high-drain cells, and less heat. I think this will output 100w, but will only last 20 mins for it's capacity. "can't physically handle the drain" is misinformation.

edit: these are 18650 cells, they'll push 100w just fine

edit2: now that I read "Ashley"'s amazon review, I'm convinced she didn't even test it out using a device that actually draws 100w. so I'm going to buy one myself and report back.

10,000mah and 100W is doubtful. 10,000 is very small and usually struggles to do 20W because the cells can't physically handle the drain.

Edit yep reviewers say it throttles to 25W almost immediately.

Bought it.

I have a 20k mah 100w power bank.
I bought that because while on vacation, the power brick on my laptop died.
That 20k mah will power my laptop.

But it's thick.
this 10k mah 100w one is thinner and comes with built in usb cable so 1 less cable to carry.
It's from Lenovo so better than the random gibberish chinese company names on amazon

Looks a lot like the FIFA / Lenovo battery pack that was a slick deal some weeks ago. FIFA one was 20000mAh for $40.

It's not out of the realm of possibility. The throttling could also be the cable thats being used. That said I have no experience with this pack.

But if it had 4 2500mah 18650 lithium-ion high rate discharge battery cells, each cell could provide 25w at ~7ah and 3.7v. 18650's can come in configurations that allow extremely high amperage discharge rates. The little RC car packs for example can push 50+ amps in 2c and 3c configurations.

36wh capacity
100w from 36wh is only 3c discharge rate. Even El Cheapo 18650 cells can handle 3c discharge rate continuously
