I think it depends on the size of your camera. One a smaller point and shoot. Sometimes it does for me on my Ricoh GR3 but I've learned to live with for it's convenience of clip in and out.

I use it on my Fuji x-m5 which is smaller and it really doesn't get in my way. Sure it's there, but it really doesn't make an impact. That said give been using these picks for years so maybe I'm just familiar with them.

Yes. Especially the right one. If it's down it get in the way of your grip, if it's up it can block buttons on the top right of your camera.
I switched to using a tripod plate.

i have issues when i use my fuji xh2 with the connectors when i use my small rig as the connectors get stuck under the smallrig and blocks my iso button. kind of annoying maybe its a user issue. i do love the peak setups tho and have it on all my cameras
