Is Bambu still recommended after the software license lawsuit controversy?

It depends on your perspective. Is this a device capable of creating quality prints? Yeah. Is it a device where Bambu can decide to remove or paywall functionality in the future? Also yeah. Will they? Not sure. It would seem like a bad market decision. Most of the uproar comes from 2 things: privacy concerns from how much data you are sending to their servers in China, and feature concerns which prevent you from using non-bambu slicing software to print directly.
In my opinion, the Bambu premium is largely overstated these days. Other print manufacturers like Anykubic, Flashforge, and Creality are also capable of fantastic prints at much lower price points. Also, I never buy the first iteration of new 3d printing tech. It's evolving fast and prices are coming down fast and there are quirks to accommodate.😇

Bambu is walling up their garden like Apple. If you like to tinker and use 3rd party software, this might not be for you. If you just wanna send a file to the printer from work, then come home to a printed project, this might be your best bet.
