EGO Power+ 15 inch cordless string trimmer kit stands out for strong weed cutting, gas like power, and a quieter run than a two stroke trimmer. The auto fill self winding head gets praise, and the included 2.5Ah battery helps explain the kit value since the battery alone runs about $109 to $135 elsewhere. Runtime can reach about 45 minutes on low, but the line burns fast and the battery may not hold full capacity for more than a few years. A solid stand alone trimmer for regular yard work.
Common Questions (4)
The included 2.5Ah battery alone is reported to cost about $109-$135, so the kit price leaves relatively little extra for the charger and trimmer. That makes the $153 bundle a strong value when it is actually in stock at that price.
It has gas-trimmer-like power and can handle thick weeds well. It is also noticeably quieter than a 2-stroke gas trimmer, while still feeling strong enough for regular yard cleanup.
Runtime depends on the speed setting, with up to about 45 minutes on low. Higher-speed use will drain it faster, so the actual run time varies with how hard you're cutting.
Yes, line consumption can be high, with refills needed after about every other lawn-care day. The tradeoff is strong cutting performance, especially on thick weeds.
