  • With up to 3,000 PSI at 2.0 max GPM, the Greenworks GPW3000V pressure washer is the most powerful residential electric pressure washer available. Does anyone know how these compare to the older Sun Joe units? My sun Joe has seen better days. TIA

Ive heard from other threads that the pumps on Greenworks pressure washers fail within 1 or 2 years. My sunjoe spx3000 is 10 years old and still working like a champ. Only broken handle due to my own negligence just last year. I will likely get the Westinghouse WPX series next as I need something with more oomph for the vinyl house siding and concrete pathway.

Wonder how much is user error, idling and/or not purging air before use

I've never used an electric pressure washer, so the pumps have the same issues as gas pumps (no idle/purge/etc) ??

Gas pressure washers need purging less often due to having stronger pumps. Gas pumps also run hotter though. Air traps easier in electric washers and the pumps are usually weaker so they need to be purged more. TBH I never needed to purge. I wish sunjoe made a bigger/stronger unit. Im surprised it lasted this long.

They don't idle like gas units. Once you let off the trigger it turns off until you pull the trigger again. Silence between runs. Excellent for cleaning cars.

Mine is about four years old. It's still going strong. I use it seasonally.

I had a gas pressure washer. This is far better. The turbo nozzle is great. You can buy sweeper and spin attachments that work great as well. I have no complaints. My first unit purchased 6 years ago crapped out on me due to user error. It was within warranty. They sent me a brand new unit. No questions asked. I harvested the old parts from the bad one and sold the new duplicates on eBay. I made money. This thing is powerful and well built. This is an update from my 3000 psi. Greenworks products get better with each generation.

Mine is almost 3 years old and no issues... Dont run it dry and empty it out before first frost and this should last a long long time. If it does not I would blame it on user error. My AR Blue prior to this one was also electric and its still going strong after 10 years, I gave it to my nephew to wash his car.

I love this design the most cause my previous pressure washer and a few others I used always tipped over, this design keeps it upright at all times.

Is this strong enough to clean driveways and sides of houses and fences?

Yes, its 3000 PSI, even an 1800PSI will do that, but granted it would take awhile with the 1800PSI. This has attachments just for driveways and decks too for around $40-50.

Thank you! I just remember reading somewhere before that even though these advertise as 3000 psi, its actually much less. Maybe it's not this version, but others on SD in the past so I wasnt sure.

I have a similar green works pro. It's 2 years old and is the best electric pressure I have used. The only down side is that if can trip a 15 amp circuit if there is anything else on it ...which many times you dont know for sure. Another interesting part is that the pump stays running when you let off the trigger. So you have instant pressure. It has a mechanism to keep it cool so it won't hurt the pump.
