I have the silver fancy version of this (same top) and it works great. This thing catches all the sawdust and fine particulate and saves your filter from getting clogged. It extends my filter life by at least 4x.

I didn't such thing existed. One time my old oil furnace went, it blew out soot through the chimney and unfortunately in the basement as well. Cleaning the basement was a mess. I had to toss out the hepa filter. Would this unit work and saved the filter?

I have this and it works wonderfully. You can buy a cyclone and a bucket but this thing already fits the stupid dewalt hoses, and it works great. I took the casters off mine so it would fit under my bench and slide it out to dump it. I barely check the shop vac.

Why, are the Dewalt hoses different than others?

It probably would. I use mine for concrete dust.

Not in my experience. I have this same unit. It works great and a step up from the DIY kits that rely on a bucket. Easier to clean out and way more durable. The DIY cyclones would leak or become brittle over time.

Not much of a discount. This is $89 every day at Lowe's.

Agree, the latches work great, rolls smoothly. I put a garbage bag in mine. When it's time to empty, just lift it out. Also, it comes with a hose. Far better value than the ones you have to rig, and I have one of those too.

I have a mullet cyclone as well. That costs 3x as much, works about the same as far as I can tell but it's much harder to empty.

Ironic that I put off purchasing another of these for months, and actually caved and ordered 3 days ago for $86.

Worth it.

So you pay a $50 surcharge for casters, an additional gallon, and a name?

PASS.

Get a venturi and a 5 gal bucket. Or even a 6-7 gal bucket (some pool chemicals are in taller/larger buckets). Strap it to a HF dolly if you want wheels.

Yeah, came here to say this. You're basically getting that, a sturdy bucket on wheels and a shop vac hose for the price of a whole shop vac

I mounted a Dust Deputy separator (higher efficiency) on top of a metal bucket, on top of a Fein Turbo I (the small one since practically nothing ends up in the vacuum) so everything wheels around together.

Sounds great until that 5 gal bucket implodes due to the vacuum.

Thanks, good to know. I'm still thinking as I really have limited use and it will occupy space but handy to have. It's not much of a savings but this is the lowest price I see here on SD. Decision, decision...
