As a pegboard noob, how many of these elements am I likely to actually use? I was thinking of making a pegboard wall in my office and one in my garage by my work bench.

For your office where aesthetics might matter, Ikea's Skadis (SKÅDIS) boards and accessories are a nicer alternative. It isn't as cheap or universal as basic pegboard. But I feel like it looks a lot better. There are even quite a few 3rd party accessories available for the boards outside of Ikea.

Do all of these pegboard sets suffer from the classic tool set filler issues with the retention clips. Legit question, are those useful (prefer real users of them not speculation)?

Current contenders are:
$27 - 320pc - 130 retention clips
$15 - 121pc - 47 retention clips
$14 - 114 pc - 47 retention clips

Feeling like the cheap option is a no, maybe comes down to how many 'bucket' hangers you want? Too many choices. lol

I don't have a clue but I just moved to a house with these boards on the all and need stuff to fill them. Like every company these days I assume everything on Walmart, Amazon, etc is all from the same factory and resold under different names.

Hopefully the clips aren't super necessary idk what they do.
