Here's how it works:

USB PD 1.0-2.0: Max 20V (100W)
•
USB PD 3.0: Max 20V (240W requires 12A — impractical)
•
USB PD 3.1: Max 48V at 5A = 240W (practical and safe)
The UGREEN 240W USB-C Cable is designed to work with USB PD 3.1 chargers that output 48V. These higher-voltage chargers are increasingly common for laptops and fast-charging power banks.
Key safety feature: The cable has an E-marker chip that communicates with compatible chargers. Your phone or laptop won't receive 48V — the system automatically negotiates the right voltage for that device (usually 5V-20V). So a 5V phone stays safe even when connected to a 48V charger.
