Speaking from experience, the socket set isn't worth more than $5. The metal is soft and the wrench itself fell apart on me after a few uses. It was a great laugh with friends when it happened though! 🤣

Its crazy they still sell that socket set. Harbor Freights (former) horrible reputation came from tools exactly like that. Junk which breaks the first time you use them. At this point it has to be one of if not the worst item sold in the whole store.

Some products are better than others. I like the blue thread locker. Very useful for me, and a small bottle goes a long way

Love that I finally have a Harbor Freight near my home, but I still haven't bought anything too big because of their previous reputation for single job tools.
Having a blast printing custom bins for their clear top cases though.

Echoing others, that socket set is bad news. I'm frustrated every time I use them, and I hardly ever need them. Spend the extra dollars and get the Quinn set.

I bought one for some spare sockets. It does indeed feel like a $5 socket set. That said, if you need some thin wall sockets for tight spaces, these are the thinest I've ever seen. Just make sure you have a spare ratchet handy. This one is not long for this world.

I've had the Pittsburgh 1/4" drive standard and deep well sockets for 10+ years. I keep them in my vehicle and I don't have any complaints about the sockets. I just bought the socket sets, so I can't say about the ratchet. It's a 1/4" drive, so you shouldn't be using them on anything that requires torque, mostly on the interior or under the hood fasteners where hand torque is good enough.

The quality on the $5 set is substantially lower than their regular socket sets, its actual junk. There is a reason a 10pc 3/8" Pittsburgh socket set costs $11 and this whole 40pc set is $5. They sell the same exact set at DOLLAR TREE, and thats exactly where it belongs! [dollartree.com]
