i know those protocols were available since then. but not all pcs had multiple hdmi outputs or display port. i am trying to get my 3rd display for my outlook email only. dell desktops at work only have hdmi and dvi available. no dp, no vga.

I could use a couple of these but 36 is a lot. Oddly enough 2 would probably cost me around the cost of 36...
