i know those protocols were available since then. but not all pcs had multiple hdmi outputs or display port. i am trying to get my 3rd display for my outlook email only. dell desktops at work only have hdmi and dvi available. no dp, no vga.

I could use a couple of these but 36 is a lot. Oddly enough 2 would probably cost me around the cost of 36...

Hmm. Buy it. Put the rest on ebay for 11.99 each with free shipping. Someone like you will find use for it. You may sell all in may be a year but will get paid for it. There are a lot of guys doing this.

I work with quite a few schools that have legacy 1080p monitors with no DP or HDMI, but do indeed have DVI. Many manufacturers were still making VGA/DVI monitors all the way up to 2020 before they started disappearing in the low-end segment for HDMI-only monitors.

This is a great deal for those organizations who still maintain monitors of that era, although I think DP to DVI is slightly more practical if you have business desktops, as business class PCs and USB-C docks often prioritize DP. I often see 2x DP, 1x HDMI as the standard output on business desktop minis and USB-C docks.

For this price, even if you only need to use half a dozen, it's worth it. That price basically covers the shipping/handling cost for Amazon/Woot, (36 6-foot HDMI to DVI cables would weight 4-8 pounds on average, depending on thickness) so they must have a ton of these cables they're looking to offload.

I do a lot of tech resale on eBay when customers dispose of equipment, and I would just take these cables in for recycling rather than try to sell them because shipping destroys the margins for cables like these.
