It's a four hour job typically with one pro and one helper. I can't even drive to your house and set up my tools for $100 with gas insurance and taxes. The permit for the electric in my city would be $80. An electrician that I subcontract with would be $150 plus probably $250 in romex, breaker, disconnect, outlet etc to be at code.

Cheaper to buy and operate than a window unit and you get heat. No brainer if you have or can borrow some basic tools and can follow a YouTube video on DIY installation.

The built-in WiFi in my old mrcool was trash. The sensibo system I use to automate all 6 of my analog AUX units is excellent. I would recommend going with an analog unit and getting sensibo if the unit is going to cost $100 less than a native wifi one and you need multiple units.

i need 18000 btu for $400ish. Most on sale as a "good" price are $500s
If 12000 can reach $350... bring on that 18000 for $400ish!!!!

i noticed there is significant discount if you get a unit without wifi.

for those installing in the garage, forget the wifi. Most garages are not insulated well with the garage doors and walls with so much leakage and very inefficient. And unless used for permanent living space dont see the need to preheat or precool. If for actual living spaces the wifi would be useful.

But if strictly for on occasion space usage like garage or sheds, save a good chunk of money and dont worry about not having wifi

Window air conditioner is a huge electric user especially during summer when they are charging for over consumption. These splits use 1/5th or less than those plus remove gallons of humidity from the air. No comparison if you understand them fully.

Just wondering if all these random name units are either rebranded Gree, Midea, Haier or something else? Reason I ask is I need to know if the remote codes are common with these brands, so I can use my Good old Honeywell wifi connected minisplit IR blaster to control these units. I use these to control my Pioneer units with some success.

I believe these are made by AUX.
