This GarveeHome 12,000 BTU mini split stands out as a low cost way to add both cooling and heat, with strong efficiency compared with window units and quiet operation. The comments also point to easy DIY installation for handy buyers, and the included line set and precharged setup help keep the job straightforward. The main cautions are that it is not WiFi, the electrical work still needs care, and the listing appears to have shifted from SEER 19 to SEER2 17. It looks best for a garage, shed, or room where 230V power is already available.

Why would you get a permit for s simple minisplit? these greedy building departments have enough money. THEY are part of the reason housing is so expensive. All they will do is increase yer property taxes
I checked my city's fee schedule. It's $200 for the mechanical and $200 for the electrical for permitting fees. That's crazy it's so expensive.

That sounds pretty good and fair. In my area Daikin and Mitsubishi single units average about $10k at the low end (parts + labor). It's highway robbery. My neighbor got two units installed for $30k on credit.

Asked electrician friend about this and was told anyone that comes up here thinking they'll undercut these guys and make a killing, quickly realize they can charge the same and still get jobs.

It'll only come down (over here) when people stop paying those ludicrous rates.
I get cheap minisplits on my rentals, ~$700 unit installed each, have gotten over a dozen throughout my properties, way cheaper than central air crap.

Already have central air with heat pump but it switches over to expensive fuel oil heat at 34 degrees. This says it heats at temps as low as -13 degrees. Wondering if I should switch over to a couple of mini splits? Not looking forward to paying $1400 to get my fuel oil tank refilled.

In the same situation like you. Let me know how it goes if you decided to go with mini splits.

Anybody know if Garvee (or whoever is actually manufacture these) sells a wifi addon?

I've got 2 Me Cool units that come with "wifi" and it's literally just a USB dongle that plugs in. Seems lots of generic brands do the same but they're model-specific... and I can't tell if Garvee does or not. They have so many WiFi enabled units it mucks up all my search results.

Reading about 3rd party "smart" connections from earlier comments I'm seeing too many potential problems since there's no system feedback so I'd rather native support.
