Good price, I'd have gone with the 65 If I were to do it again, even with a tempering valve.

So many quality control issues in the reviews. Not touching this. Would rather go with a dumb straightforward electric one

I did the 65 gallon since I had the 50 before and learned. I think with the hybrid if you are running on heat pump only mode for max efficiency you need to up one size.

That's what I did after always being able to get by with a gas 40. I knew the 1st hour rating was much lower, but didn't account for how especially cold my supply water is in the dead of winter, coupled with lowered ambient temperature around the tank. I'm still happy with it, it's run nearly perfectly and has great features. I'm sure I'd be overjoyed if I hadn't come from gas while my elec. has increased 20% in a year and they're asking for 10% more next year.

Very good deal. I have the 50 gallon and the Econet app says it used 970kwh in the last 12 months. Roughly $120 a year based on my $0.125 electricity rates. You can make your money back in ~3 years over a regular heater and the warranty is good for 10 years. Was easy to install the condensate drain line since mine is in the garage right next to an outside wall, but could be more difficult for others. Have had mine for over 3 years now and no issues whatsoever. Plus it cools my garage down for free when it's running!

I am about the same. Mine is at about 1150kwh for the each of the past two years. I made an adaptor so it sucks warm air from upstairs and kicks it out down. The app is terrible but overall I love the wh. My cost is $75 for the year due to maximizing overnight prices.

As someone who had a dumb gas one, replaced it with one of these all electric, and had quality control issues, I would not go back to a dumb one and still recommend them.
