My wife (age 60+) has balance issues. She enjoys her time on the rocker, 3X a week.
My sister (age 70) has a history of minor hip pain. She says she can do the rocker without any pain.
Too early to tell whether there is any therapeutic value or physical conditioning value. Meanwhile, the rocker's primary benefit is to make it more fun and engaging to exercise.
As far as build quality, it is first rate. Materials and workmanship is excellent considering the price point. My only criticism is of the low strength resistance bands. IMO, 5 lbs. dumbbells would be more effective than using the trifling resistance bands. I already have a 40 lbs. dumbbell set, so I have no use for the resistance bands.
A few people have complained about squeaks and squeals coming from the rocking motion. So far, mine and my sister's Merach Rocking Stepper have been perfectly silent. (Knock on wood. Hopefully, they will continue their quiet operation.)
P.S. It is recommended that you do NOT use the rocking stepper on hard floors, because the rocker tends to slide/creep on flat surfaces with each rocking motion. I use mine in a spare bedroom on shag carpeting. My sister uses hers on a heavy-duty kitchen rug. YMMV.
