Edit: In case anyone else finds themselves in this situation, they do NOT pick your order when it is placed but wait until shortly before your scheduled pickup time. For this reason, something in stock when you order can go out of stock before they grab it off the shelf. I guess the way you get around it is select the earliest possible pickup time even if you're not going until later in the day. Fortunately when I called they had one left and put it aside for me. Dumb!
I had my in-store pickup order canceled an hour before it was ready. I went in and let them know that I was upset my order had been canceled one hour before pickup. The customer service manager sold me the display model, which turned out to be just fine.
