This set always sold for around $100 bucks.
Now for clarification... this is a very decent knife set and not "entry-level" as some people claim.
Zwilling / Henckels sells 3 grades of knives.
Top Tier: ZWILLING (means "Twins" in German) Exclusively made in Germany...top German steel.
Mid Tier: Henckels International (Made in Spain) Still very nice choice...decent blade quality for the price.
Bottom Tier: Henckels International(Made in China) Bottom of the barrel...low grade steel... stay away!
Lastly...someone asked about a decent knife sharpener...here you go:
Chef's Choice Professional (older model) for $21 bucks (the newer model cost $60)

With 15 & 20 degree sharpening option...Nice.
Hope that helps...
Cheers!
Community Reviews
Henckels International Classic Christopher Kimball set is a solid everyday starter knife trio that stands out most for value at this price. The blades are described as well balanced, easy to sharpen, and good at holding an edge for basic home use, with the serrated prep knife needing a different sharpening approach. The main caution is that this line sits below Zwilling and other higher tier Henckels options, and the retail price is viewed as inflated. It feels like a practical, approachable set when the deal price is the goal.
Common Questions (3)
Zwilling is the premium tier, while Henckels International is the budget or lower tier. Zwilling is associated with the twin-logo and German-made forged knives, while Henckels International is often stamped and made in places like Spain, China, Thailand, or India depending on the set.
Yes for basic everyday use: the set is described as low-end or entry-level, but still well balanced, able to hold an edge reasonably well, and easy to sharpen. At about $35 for three knives, it is framed as a much more approachable buy than paying $100+ for a single higher-end knife.
A whetstone or proper knife sharpener is useful because these knives may need sharpening more often than higher-end blades. The 5.5-inch serrated prep knife should not use a standard pull-through sharpener; it needs a tapered ceramic rod or a serrated-specific sharpener.
