Ryobi's bucket top misting fan is a compact, quiet portable fan that moves a surprising amount of air and adds useful cooling in dry heat. The misting works best in arid climates, at youth sports sidelines, on patios, kayaks, and other outdoor setups, and the fan can run from a five gallon bucket or modified cold water setup. The main drawback is that the stock nozzles spray too heavily and can soak nearby surfaces, especially in humid weather. Smaller replacement nozzles, distilled water, or vinegar cleaning help tame the mist and reduce clogging.

really like these fans, picked up 2 in a two pack. Great in AZ, i use both at same time on low mist setting and on high fan setting, they make projects bearable. High misting setting, will soak areas, but again has made projects possible in this heat. Power went out last night and low fan setting allowed us to make it through the night. great investments if you have the batteries.

i bought smaller nozzles from amazon and now its a nice mist. stock outputs too much water.
also someone correct me if im wrong but using purified water is best so chemicals dont clog up the pump mechanism.
Do you remember if the replacement nozzels were .3mm or .2mm? You are correct, the stock nozzels are too much. Many thanks!

If where you live has relative dry heat, the misting works great.

It's pretty amazing. I have had one for a while and just ordered a 2nd one for my wife. Yeah, it can go on the top of a 5 gallon but I use mine by attaching the hose to a standard hydration pack. The kind that goes into a hiking backpack. Then I attach the whole thing to the back of my kayak. Kayaking on a hot day with a cool mist on your back is game changing.

I ordered the factory blemish standard fan, no spray misting, from their outlet store, this mister is a good deal if you want a mister. Unfortunately in our high humidity of 60 to 70%, misting doesn't do as well as say in Arizona 10% humidity.

Swamp coolers performance is related to humidity.

You need moisture on skin to create that cooling effect. Where you are already sweating like a pig, in my opinion, you don't need misting.

Information on the standard fan, it applies to misting.

Received this factory blemish, full warranty, unlike refurbished, which I think is just a year.

Warning: keep your receipt, it's on the box, taped in a bag, on top. Just download the app, and temporarily register an ID. The serial number and information are on the bottom of the fan. Take a cell phone picture its hard to read. You'll need to upload your receipt image for the warranty.

That's sweet. The requirement of uploading your receipt image means you no longer have to hang on to it in a drawer somewhere.

I can't see any marks.
It looks smaller than our 7-year-old now-defunct fan.

I realize it's the same blade size; they have redone the cowling over the front, making the fins tighter in the cowling circle.

It seems to provide a better air flow.

Major changes in the old design.
The switch moved to the front, so much easier to use and get two. Now a 3-speed vs 2 toggle, low, off, high.

It can still hang on a metal type fence like found in a baseball field backstop or dugout.

They removed the front bottom hanging hook. I never knew exactly what it was for. I guess that had to go to put the new three-way speed switch on the front. It is not missed.

The handle is no longer on the back when you pick it up; it wants to tilt forward. The handle is now built in directly over the fan, making it much easier to tote.

On high, this produces an amazing amount of airflow and is super quiet for the speed; it lasts a long time. Much more so, the noise than in the old model.

On low, it's best described as a cat breath, second speed, probably what you would consider a very low. And it's extremely quiet on both settings.

My guess this would be good if you are on a tent floor sleeping and you really didn't want the fan blowing, but maybe something just to keep mosquitoes off you. A nightstand? You could put this thing just a foot away from your head and not be bothered by it on the lower 2 speeds.

We use it almost exclusively now on high where we need portable air cooling, porch sitting, or running on the porch for a sitting break, cutting grass.

An occasional haul into a hot kitchen on the floor.

They tend to come in and out of stock, so if you check, you'll probably be able to snag one. Locally, they actually seem to sell for $60 at a big box hardware store.

Yeah, so if you actually have the batteries and charger and you are into Ryobi like we have, this is not a bad deal.

Need a correction or two.

I meant just download the app, temporarily, create an account, register your product and your receipt, and just delete the app. I hate having these kinds of apps hang around on my phone
