The is the 12.5" long Bob Kramer sharpening steel made by Zwilling.
It has 4 sharpening surfaces; 2 ribbed, which removes the most metal, and 2 smooth sides that remove metal through adhesive wear.
This sharpening steel won Americas Test Kitchen shootout twice.
It's longer than most steels, so that makes it easy to keep the same angle as you create the micro-bevel.

Once every professional knife sharpening shop bought a digital microscope, the whole "straightening the edge" fable has ceased to be told.
Sharpening Steels or Hones DO sharpen knives, and DO remove metal. You can see it under a microscope.
Sharpening Steels create a micro-bevel, removing metal at the knife's apex.
But I'm thinking, if the test kitchen lady was able to get it for $50, us SDs should aim to get it for even less! 🤣

That video was pre-tariffs, and now everyone (like amazon and ATK ) is charging $79 for it. So this sale might be as good as we can get it.
