FYI if you are buying without the battery, a 4ah 80v runs about $280.

Your math ain't mathing. The whole kit containing the 4ah battery, the charger and the chansaw is $297 via the same link.

If anyone is wondering this can be modified to take the 82v commercial batteries. You just need to remove one of the battery guide rails (I used an oscillating multi tool).

80v @ 2.0kw power would be inferior to 60v @ 2.5kw ?

I have a battery for this and I love chain saws but I have nothing really to chop down. Also my wife would be annoyed if I bought another one.

Not necessarily.

Higher voltage usually translates to more torque for Assuming they aren't using the same motor, the 80v could very well translate to more functional power.

I'm interested. Can you point me to the batteries you're referring to?

Unfortunately, not true. The kit is sold out. It notes that it's available on BestBuy, but it's $335 there.

Also though, I think that's kind of his point. If you need the battery, consider the kit as that's a better deal than getting the battery separately (which is ~$65 bucks more total ($120+$280))

If you can wait for a deal the batteries can be had much cheaper. Mine were essentially 'free' as part of deal on kits. If you are going to get into the greenworks 80v ecosystem, once you have 1-2 batteries you will find that is plenty for all your tools
