I had no idea Menard's carried Rheem anywhere. I thought Rheem was basically an HD brand at this point.

Either way, I'm going to be in need of a new water heater, and I've been eyeing these.

Are these more efficient than a tank water heater? 180,000 BTU is huge. Plus I read these need to be cleaned on a yearly basis

Menard's in house brand of water heaters are manufactured by Rheem.

In the same boat with new build. Trying to decide on roughly 75 gallon tank or 11GPM tankless.

Yes, I was told cleaning once or twice a year.

I guess the cost and install difference for me with a new build. Standard is 50 gallon so I would be paying the difference between that and either the 75 (no extra install costs) or the tankless. And probably extra install costs.

I haven't had my tankless water heater cleaned since it was installed 15 years ago and it still works fine lol. We don't have hard water though so YMMV

If you are in a hard water region, flush it once/year. It's super simple.

Yup. White vinegar, 2 hoses, bucket, and 1/5 or 1/6 HP submersible pump. Takes me about a half hour.
