It's a decent deal on a business laptop with upgradable memory/storage options, long battery life and a 3-year warranty.

What makes this a "business laptop"? The entry-level 4-core CPU, or the unexciting 14" non-touch 1200p display? Yes, you can upgrade it if you're willing to spend another $200+ just to add another 16GB SODIMM. There is nothing about this worth nearly $1000, especially as a "deal".

ExpertBook is Asus's business line of laptops geared towards corporate customers. Business laptops are not just about specs. It's about durability, a business oriented OS and software, built-in security features like a secure BIOS and FIDO2, expandability like up to 64GB RAM and the ability to run a dual drive RAID for automatic backup. Features which are not commonly found on consumer oriented laptops. It's not a Desktop replacement laptop or a laptop geared towards Creators/Gamers, rather it's a solid laptop with good expandability according to your needs backed by a 3-year warranty and a lightweight laptop with good battery life for work on the go or travel.

I appreciate your detailed explanation, but it's still a crap laptop for business, IMO. The CPU in this will not get better with age -- It's already bottom of the bucket. Personally, I'm tired of seeing companies like Dell take a very mediocre laptop, slap their business line moniker on it, and use that as an excuse to charge twice as much. Most mid-level laptops are very well built these days, usually with metal shells and with CPU's, even the fastest ones, that sip power. SODIMM slots are rare these days but they didn't used to be...every consumer laptops used to have them so I don't consider that a "business feature". With the price of SODIMM upgrades, I'd just as soon buy a laptop with the memory I need as I have no plans getting ripped off at the current prices for slower RAM. And, yes, I did see that this ExpertBook has two SSD slots...the problem is one is 2280 and one is 2230. That means you have to use two different SSD's, not ideal for a RAID drive if that is what they were trying to accomplish. And remember, we're talking about ASUS, I company whose laptops I do love (I own a Zenbook A16 with 48GB RAM), but also a company in the news recently about having horrendous service and who frequently denies warranty claims just because they want to -- games most businesses don't want to play.
