I'm more unsure of what to do logistics wise with where I can get 2 numbers that'll port in easy, and what do I do with the service before I'm ready to trade into Apple? I don't really care for the service, I'm just looking for the cheapest/easiest way to get an unlocked 17e and read this is a good way to capitalize on value.

- Find the best deal on 2 lines of service - could be Tello, US Mobile etc and sign up for monthly service. Then wait for the numbers to become transferable - which is at least a week.
- Sign up online for the Cricket or Metro by T-mobile promo for under $200.
- Take your phones to the Apple store for credit towards your Iphone 17e.
Beware that going between 1 and 2 is error-prone and time-consuming. The low-cost providers do not make it easy to transfer out their numbers and it will require multiple attempts and time, patience and knowledge on your hand. Their support will be finger-pointing to the other side, and you will be stuck. The Straight Talk route, while more expensive, is faster because the line is transferable after three days; the catch was to get a proper account number to provide with port-in. You decide if it is really worth the effort for you.Alternatively, you may walk into any Walmart that has external cell phone reps who will be able to activate the Straight Talk promo for $199, including Iphone 16e and a line of service. - that will set you back about $265/phone

I found out that the XR does have eSIM and I can have up to 8 but only one active at a time along with one physical SIM but I'm not using it. I was able to get two lines on MobileX using it thankfully.
I went into two cricket stores today to try and see if I can get a better deal than the online offer. First store said no. Second store, the rep offered me two 16e for $330 out the door. I feel like I could do better so I'll try another couple stores tomorrow.
