Man. This was such a polarizing game. I kinda like harry potter but not enough for this to be a must have for me. The start was honestly really cool. Getting to the school. Exploring the grounds, finding stuff... just gorgeous. Heading to hogsmead was also neat. And sadly while that's pretty much the intro that's as good as it gets. As the rest of the world just feels blah..and the magic feels very limited.. fun to mess around it, but not super captivating

Check your libraries, base game was free on Epic and the Deluxe Edition doesn't add much.

Felt the same and lost interest playing half way through. Lots of NPCs around but felt like they just took up space instead of adding to the world in an immersive way. You couldn't interact with any of them unless they were a part of your quest. Threw a fireball at or next to them? It was like nothing happened. Also, remembering which type of spell cancelled out which was a bit annoying.

My son played this game after reading the books and loved it. For $10 its an incredible value. You can wander around hogwarts. There are a lot of little details everywhere. The story and quest lines are really good. Great game

Amen, the spell combat was super janky and was so formulaic (if enemy does X, you must do Y) it almost felt like QTE's. Also, the encounters could be so easily bypassed just by flying past the enemies and (if I remember correctly) there was zero experience gained, so it almost didn't serve any purpose to bother fighting outside story missions as it was just a waste of time.

World building was pretty epic. At best I casually like Harry Potter, but that aspect I was really impressed with.
