Normally I'd be sad as my gpu died and I just got a PNY 5080 from microcenter last week, however, the card that died was a normal use gigabyte 3080 ti from 2021.
You bought both? Which one will you keep if both ships? trick question: keep both
Yea, I have a strong feeling that Staples order will get canceled. I'd prefer 5080 but I'm honestly happy with either...and would prefer a super, whenever in the hell that thing launches

Yah it's just a price difference game I think. I believe 5070 TI 16GB will play 4K no problem like a 5080.
The 5070 12GB deal is crazy. 38% cheaper than the 5070 TI, 56% cheaper than 5080.

my 5070 ti from staples shipped this morning. although I did just find out the 'free delivery' is going to be through doordash so now I'm a different kind of worried. gl
ETA: received the card this morning with no issues.
I'm convinced nobody actually lives near a microcenter. It's like a myth.
I tend to find most people live 40mins - 1 hour or so away from one. I lived close to one when I lived in Dallas and found myself in it once or twice a week. I would but a CPU/Motherboard/Memory bundle, then in a week or so a new bundle came out, then I would buy that new one. Spent too much money lol!
The thermal gel issue on Gigabyte's RTX 5000 series graphics cards is serious enough that I'm going to avoid them. Just like the ASRock motherboard issue that was reportedly damaging Ryzen 9000 series CPUs, I don't want to end up being one of the affected users.

I think the 12GB specs are too gimped though.
