This is not a sustainable system, $1100 for just a video card that isn't even top of the line. With everything skyrocketing in price, Game studios are going to have to wise up and realize they are going to need to appeal to what people can afford or we will just go back and explore our backlog.
The thermal gel issue on Gigabyte's RTX 5000 series graphics cards is serious enough that I'm going to avoid them. Just like the ASRock motherboard issue that was reportedly damaging Ryzen 9000 series CPUs, I don't want to end up being one of the affected users.
The ASRock issue is very real, I had a new matx board of theirs kill a 9700x.
my 5070 ti from staples shipped this morning. although I did just find out the 'free delivery' is going to be through doordash so now I'm a different kind of worried. glETA: received the card this morning with no issues.
As someone who delivers for stores we are just as nervous as you lol.
