Yeah I think all the ultragear monitors are on firesale because of the fallout. Hey, if you don't mind your monitor installing malware on your computer then you might be able to get a good deal.

Dell/Alienware also silently install bloatware through Windows update. On my AW3423DW every time Windows reinstalled their apps, it changed power settings so the monitor would never sleep and it ended up burning it in.

Probably going to wait for the Dell that's rumored to come in at $1100. With the deals and credit card offers that Dell has on occasion, might be able to get that for under $1k.

Is it still useful without installing the LG driver? Monitors don't typically require drivers.

From the video, it looks as though Windows just auto-installs the LG driver. Unless you knew what to look for, you probably wouldn't have known it happened.
