There are other options if you want a better model.
If you have to get a printer... laser is the way to go for cost per page and reliability. I will never buy a inkjet printer again, Even though the "tank" series printers are more resonably priced per page, you have to pay more for the printer

3rd party toner cartridges are super common on Amazon. I'm sure they vary in quality, but they're like 1/5th Brother price.
I went with the generic cartridge cuz quality of prints doesn't matter for labels. The generic cartridges have minor flaws, but two for $15 I won't complain.
This one is wireless as well, which is nice. You can share it among multiple comps in your household without having to e-mail it over or connect it every time.
i dont recommend color laser tho, that's another scam, as you need 4 cartridges, CMYK.

I'm still using my HL-2280DW from 2013 I got through a deal here (for about the same price, ha ha)
As a poster above mention, look for aftermarket toners. I replaced the drum on mine once.
Lasers are actually a better option for people that do not print much because they do not dry out. You can go months without using a laser and it will still print just like it did the previous time. Toner for a laser is a dry powder that is "magnetized"(for lack of a better word) to the paper then fused into the paper. If you get a laser printed paper wet, it will not change the print. The paper literally has to disintegrate.
