edit: unless it's in app only. I see one thing saying in the app. seriously? the app doesn't even have a search function to find the item in it?
Also, can i also get the ninteodo switch 2 at discount or that was just for 1 item?

I don't really care about having it learn, anyway, soi I would probably enable wifi and turn off cloud syncing. I would have still rather gotten an ecobee probably, but I am in a rush to get something done because my upstairs is MUCH hotter than downstairs and so when I have them come adjust dampers I want to already have a thermostat for them to install and do the c wire install etc... and this was what was on sale. My brother prefers google to ecobee and I see a lot prefer ecobee to google.
Eh I wonder if even the sensor would work without wifi since it's bluetooth?
edit: yeah a search says even with wifi turned off the sensor will work still. So you could even disable the entire wifi on it apparently.

Right now I recommend the Aqara W200 or use Honeywell zwave thermostats. Both allow you to block the thermostats from the internet before you even set it up and can fully control it without any cloud connectivity. Which means if Aqara ever shuts down their servers your thermostat will still work. Nowadays having full local setup and control is a requirement because so many companies shut down their servers rendering your smart devices useless

For me, personally, i'd not need cloud enabled (once set up, anyway), since the sensor doesn't need it. But if not using wifi at ALL then I'd not be able to control it remotely... Supposedly, not even wifi is needed if the sensor is within bluetooth range, but no clue how close that would make it need to be, especially when going from floor to floor.
I really don't like google to begin with, thanks to their history with privacy, but all of the other brands are typically rated below google and ecobee. I have seen the honeywell recommended a lot, but they always seem to have pretty low ratings and also i don't have a c wire.
And check this one out... you will really love this. In my state if I want to get a rebate for having bought the thermostat I have to sign up for a program where THEY (tennessee valley authority) can remote CONTEROL my thermostat to change my temp on days they want to conserve energy in the region. lol. They say you can opt back out of it or stay in it to receive more money back each year. But seriously I think I would be reluctant to even start it to begin with and them have my thermostat and wifi info.
