the 5aH battery is about 5lbs, the chainsaw is about 10lbs, so close to 15lbs total
Thank you. It arrived today and he said he should be able to manage it. Looks like I'm about to find him some chainsaw chaps or apron 😂

just wrapped up a 28" oak with my 16" and 12 " greenworks saws. As a homeowner who rarely cuts trees, these things rock...it did take longer than a normal saw...but the hand splitting made the saw work seem easy. Will get this one to level up. The 12" is my goto MTB trail maintenance machine

Project Farm informs on this-

I've got a 40v Ryobi 18" that apparently "sucks" in this review, yet is my go-to saw because it's so easy and powerful enough. I'd guess this saw is just fine. As always, invest in the ecosystem, not individual tools. If you don't have Greenworks then don't get this.

I've never been a big fan of Greenworks products, yet this seems like a great deal. I've verified that it does come down to $170 with the coupon code provided by OP, and that free shipping applies. With a chain speed of 82 FPS, it should perform well. This is rated to be equivalent or better than a 50 cc gas chainsaw. Replacement chains can be found on Amazon for approximately $20-$25 for three or four of them in a pack.I returned the ego which I bought from Lowe's as I felt it was underpowered. I then went with a HART from Walmart and that performed much better, yet I returned it anyway after I was done with a tree which came down and the most recent storm, and Walmarts return policy was so easy.I may pull the trigger on this, although I'm a little hesitant about greenworks.com return policy. It appears that for chainsaws they only accept new unused products within 30 days of delivery. If it has been used or filled with chain oil, they do not accept returns. So if the performance does not match the specs on the product page, you are stuck with it.
well, it sounds like you love returning stuff after using it a couple of times.

Yea sounds like you won't be able to cut 3 or 4 trees with it and return this one

Is there a big difference between GW 60V and 80V lines?

I've got one of their 80v chainsaws and it's a beast. The only thing I don't like is that I can't figure out the right orientation to store it to prevent the chain oil from leaking out - apparently this is common with all chainsaws. I also own their 800 CFM blower and 17" string trimmer, both of which have been great.
The only solution for the bar oil leaking out is to remove it before storage. I use a funnel and pour it back into the bottle.

or get the plastic chain saw case. i just let mine sit on the side with oil fill up, also don't overfill oil when using for small jobs.

Man this landed 6 years after I noticed my 5a batter starting to get weaker for my mower and I really wanted the chainsaw and started looking for deal after using neighbors ego chainsaw.
