Having recently invested in several MX keyboards, this is an awesome deal. Came today -- usbC makes for a very tiny dongle, this will be easy for me to lose if I'm not careful.

I have a UGreen USB-C all-in-one dongle. It would fit fine into that. Then it would be harder to lose.

So, what are the compatible devices?
The Logitech Bolt USB-C Receiver only works with Logi Bolt devices, not all Logitech devices.
Logitech has two separate wireless connection types:
  • Logi Bolt – Newer, more secure technology (what this receiver uses)
  • Logitech Unifying – Older standard used by devices like the M705
These two systems are not compatible with each other. You'll need to check if your Logitech device has a Bolt or Unifying logo to determine which receiver you need. Customers specifically mention the M705 mouse is not compatible with this receiver.

I have a collection of Unify receivers from every time a mouse dies or a keyboard gets combined with a mouse on one computer. Since Bolt devices are all Bluetooth compatible I should end up with spares that way too. Still a tempting price to start my receiver collection, and I'm not sure if any devices come with a type C receiver.
Logitech is sadly phasing out unifying receiver in favor of bolt. Its definitely worth upgrading if range is ever an issue, such as with a living room/HTPC setup. These have a much more stable signal at 6+ ft in my experience

They replaced unifying dongles with this.. It's a stretch but these aren't backwards compatible I suppose
well thats a shame.... was hoping they made a device that allowed me to not have 3 unifiers plugged in lol

There are at least 4 "current" incompatible* protocols, besides bluetooth, that Logitech uses.
  • Nano - receivers can pair 1K + 1M
    • not all devices play well with all dongles or each other, though firmware updates may solve
    • Use ConnectUtility, available separately or as part of SetPoint

  • Unifying - receivers can pair 6 whatevers
  • Bolt - receivers can pair 6 whatevers
    • proprietary extension to bluetooth LE
    • devices should be bluetooth compatible as well
    • Use Bolt software, Options+, or web connect page

  • Lightspeed - receivers can pair "2"
    • not all devices play well
    • not sure if it's 1K + 1M or 2 whatevers
    • Use G HUB software
* Some mice shipped with nano receivers, but were also Unifying-compatible. AFAIK, there were no other devices supporting 2 different proprietary protocols.
