I grew up thinking this too. I see a lot of doctors and for the last 10 years, I've heard so much I need to take vitamin d. Like I'm not even deficient, just on the low side of normal.

Edit: to all the replies, this is 1000 IU more than the recommended upper limit of 4000 IU (and that 4000 IU is for ALL sources of daily vitamin D, not a single dose). Actual recommended amount for adults is 600 IU. Oral vit D will also accumulate in your fat stores, you don't have a natural shutoff for the supplement like your body does for skin/uv vit D production. Vit K doesn't change this guideline. Ideally you'd get a blood test to know the appropriate dose for your situation. Do what you want with your body but if you have opposing views, back them up.

I take 50k IU in winter once a week. I do blood work every 6-9 months. Always in range.
