The Anker SOLIX S2000 stands out as a compact, efficient 2,010Wh portable power station that works especially well for UPS backup and time of use load shifting. The low idle draw, high inverter efficiency, and 35 to 36 pound weight make it unusually portable for its capacity, and the app, Storm Guard, and fast switchover add real utility. It can run fridges, window air conditioners, and other household loads for backup or peak shaving. Main drawbacks are the 1,500W to 1,800W output ceiling, 400W solar input, no 12V output, and a fan that can get loud under load. It is a strong fit when efficiency and size matter more than raw output.

Coupon code 'POWER10' takes 10% off at Outbound Power to bring it down to $540+tax. The weight and idle draw is insanely good for a 2kwh class battery. Too bad the AC power output of 1500w is pretty puny compared to competitors. The Bluetti Elite 200 can output 2600w continuous compared to 1500w of the Solix S2000. Fantastic deal if the wattage limit is not a problem for you.
Thank you

Yeah - it's a Storm Guard 'bug'. Regardless of what you change the charge to, when storm guard kicks on it goes to 1600W.

Found that out the hard way when I started getting warnings of air quality and it turned on and my breakers tripped.

I'm assuming it's a simple fix in the firmware where they'll allow for an option that says 'when storm guard activates, charge at chosen rate'.
There's a lot of poor logic in these new modes.

It would have been nice if they'd rested it before release....

Maybe dumb question but is this better\worse\same as a similarly priced computer UPS? Is it the ability to charge with solar that's differentiates it from a 'regular' computer UPS? If no difference that's ok I'm wondering if I should consider this type of power backup instead.
It's not better or worse. It's different.

Power stations such as this one are fine as power backup. They tend to be more expensive, but also hold more power (=longer run time without wall power).

Your run-of-the-mill computer UPS (APC, Cyberpower, Triplite, etc.) tends to be cheaper and have a shorter run time, but it also is capable to communicating with your computer to shut it down gracefully before the batteries run down. This is important because just crashing your computer is not a Good Thingâ„¢. They will have much faster switching times, which reduces the chances of the load turning off while switching to battery. This class of UPS also tends to offer power protection for surges, as well as under- and over-voltage.

If it's fine that whatever you plug into it may turn off without much warning, then it may not matter which you choose. Whichever you go with, just know that it must be plugged into the wall due to the power draw.

All that said, you should not be seeing the same prices for these things, so look again.

Why do they design these with no handle on top to carry around. When I'm lugging around a 35lb battery I don't care how sleek the design looks
My feeling is that you are in the minority, as this is designed to be seen by people

Maybe you want an F2000, which has wheels as well as handles

Why is this a deal? Confused

1x USB-C (15W max)
1x USB-A (12W max).
Why add these at all bad design wasted real estate.

5 plugs waste maybe do 2 and let us daisy chain because they use better wiring like low gauge copper wires instead is much better.

Also no 12v dc outlet wasting energy that doesn't need ac. Main issue tested ecoflow 12v cig wastes energy because it can't run a vehicle cooler wtf. And throws error on startup because it panics when it spikes by 0.5 sec and drops it can't handle shit

Appears POWER10 is no longer working... sadly

I bought it a few weeks ago. It's a good an efficient unit, but the fan is obnoxious. It's not even the decibels, it's the pitch ... it growls even at low RPM. I'm on the latest firmware.

I 100% agree - worst thing about this unit by a long mile.

Otherwise it's fantastic but the fan is preventing me from picking any more up in the future until they sort it.

Usually these are for camping, off grid and backup power. For people on expensive Time of Use (TOU) plans like California PG&E, there could be a use case here to run a window or portable air conditioner off this during peak times, then charge this with solar or off peak grid power. The savings would be small, not worth it for most people. But since this is rated for up to 10000 charge cycles (until capacity drops to 60%) and the inverter is so efficient, this could be viable for TOU power flexing to save a little money or offset some of the cost.
So if I just bought a generator from Costco for 3kw, would this battery backup with 400w of solar (which is not great for a battery this size), I would be covered for all extended power outages like from a hurricane since I live in Florida.

The last time I had a hurricane-related power outage, it was off for almost five full days

You might want to look at a much larger power station to avoid having to run the generator as often in an extended outage
