The stack on these is the same as any max cushion shoes these days. Same stack as the Vomero 18 and Vomero Plus which present no problem and are very comfortable. Move up to a Vomero Premium and then the height might be a bit much, but I wouldn't call that a comfort issue.

Few questions for the runners. Is Nike now making decent running shoes? This msrp seems wildly high? Which makes me wonder are they now competing with the best brooks and asics offers. 20 years ago Nike running shoes were widely known as terrible so I am curious if that changed. The price tag is wild? I think the best brooks shoes are like 170-180?

Exactly my thoughts on these. I bought a pair a few weeks ago and found it very difficult to wear as a walking shoe. When I walk, my foot would collapse slightly inwards putting a lot of stress on the inside of my knees. I was initially planning on going for the Vomero Plus but people recommended these as a better lifestyle alternative. I've owned hundreds of sneakers and these are the first that I've ever had this issue with. Instead, I've been wearing Vomero 5's which are decently cushioned and provide much better support and I can wear them the entire day with zero issues.

How would these shoes be for someone who isn't into running but likes to walk 8+ miles a day either on the road or treadmill? is there a different shoe that would be better?

It's a max cushion shoe geared more for high volume running (i.e. races). My first thought is that this is not a good shoe for you. Everyone's foot shape and needs are different, and i'd imagine for walking long distances that you would value comfort and factors that may alleviate certain pain points unique to you. I'd recommend checking out runrepeat.com and/or trying shoes on in-person to see what fits you best. Some shoes that I like (for me) for everyday walking are Hoka Clifton and Kuru Atom 2 as I deal with heel pain.

These are most comfortable Nikes I think I have ever had. I buy about 3 Nikes a year. I weigh 180 pounds so maybe some other posters are heavier or something

The pegasus premium always seemed like more of a gimmick to me. I have a pair of regular peg 41s and peg plus, but i honestly prefer the regular ones. The 41s are what you expect from a peg and the peg plus are similar to the old peg turbo but the sole is really loud.
