Crimson Desert on PS5 is a huge open world action game that stands out for its satisfying combat, beautiful graphics, and sheer amount of content. The Skyrim comparison fits the sense of scale, with long playtimes and plenty to explore. Cross save now works across PC and PS5, which makes switching platforms easier. Performance on console has been a concern, especially on base systems after a recent update, though a later patch is said to have fixed it. The control scheme can also be rough on the hands, so it suits players who want a big adventure more than tight PvP action.
Exploration-focused RPG fans who want a huge world, because the game offers satisfying combat, lots to do, and long playtime.
Players who enjoy a beautiful single-player adventure, because the game has strong graphics and can keep a completionist busy for months.
PC players who want smoother performance, because console performance can suffer while the PC version is described as the safer route.
Controller-first players who need comfortable inputs, because the control schemes can hurt hands and feel clunky on a controller.
Players on base PS5 who want stable performance, because the latest update can tank frame rates hardest on base consoles.
PvP-focused players who want intense fighting, because the game is described as a poor fit for that style.
