In my opinion, yes. Everyone has different tastes but The Super Nova beats the 8BitDo Ultimate in just about every way.
• Better ergonomics (the more flared handles means you don't have to keep your elbows as together. It's a small but noticeable difference)
• More premium feel (heavier, more solid, feels like better materials)
• Better features (more connectivity options, Ability to swap button layout, faceplates, etc.)
• Usually has a much lower price (this is regularly on sale for $30 whereas a good deal for the 8BitDo Ultimate is like $45ish?)
I had a handful of 8BitDo Ultimate controllers as it was my go-to. I had a couple for PC/Docked Steam Deck, a couple for Switch (some Ultimate and some ultimate 2C) and once I grabbed on of these and used it for even 10 minutes, I was sold and started replacing all my Ultimates with these Super Novas
Like I said, everyone has different tastes but I was all in on the 8BitDo Ultimate controller and immediately switched once i tried one of these.
I have ultimate 3c on PC and this for switch 2, I prefer this for ergonomics of grip. Can't speak to anything else both seem to outlive my Xbox controllers wish there was a cheap wireless solution for that and stick drift

These are better than 8bitDo?

It's not cheap but the GameSir G7 has editions that work wirelessly on Xbox. They start at $100 but blow the Xbox Elite controller (which I believe is 2x as much) out of the water. They can be found of sale too!
I bought a series Pro last year still going strong. These controllers are really good. I did have a minor issue with mine. I contacted customer support after sending pictures and a video with what they told me to do. They sent out a new one. The app makes it fully customizable to your needs.
I'm tempted to get this. I have an 8BitDo that is really solid but I don't like the ergonomics like others have mentioned. I prefer the xbox style of this controller.
These can wake the Switch 2, which is really nice and not very common with cheap controllers. Just know that you'll need the Gamesir desktop app first (make sure to grab the latest version), and then update the firmware on your controller by connecting it to your computer via data cable (connecting via the dongle won't grab the right firmware).
