This Philips Sonicare 2 pack lands as a value play for basic sonic brushing, with the newer motor and design, a pressure sensor, and the same internals as pricier Philips models. The warehouse price has been confirmed at about $70, and pickup avoids the $6.99 shipping fee. The package includes only three brush heads total, and the deal works out best around $35 each. Battery life and charging reliability are the main concern, with reports of units weakening or failing to charge after a few years or even within days.

  • Picking up at a local Costco warehouse can avoid the $6.99 shipping fee.

  • The model can be a practical sweet spot when priced around $35 per toothbrush.

  • The toothbrush includes a USB plug charger, which can simplify charging setup.

  • A Philips employee states this model uses the same internals as premium versions, with differences mainly in features.

  • Both toothbrushes reportedly stopped accepting a charge within three days of use.

  • Charging reliability can be an issue, since two units reportedly stopped charging after about a year of use.

  • The 2-pack reportedly includes only three brush heads total, which can create a spare-head shortage.

  • The charging setup may require a USB-C adapter, which can add an extra item to buy.

the one I'm using is 12 years old
My healthywhite from 2014 is still going as well, although it is starting to show signs of needing to be replaced soon. I wonder if my dentist will be able to tell I got a new toothbrush

I work for Philips and my recommendation is the same as yours. This is the most affordable model you'll find with the same internals as the premium ones, only differences between this and one 4x as expensive is features. If all you want is a toothbrush that'll deliver results without spending $$$ this is it. All brushes do have a 2.5yr warranty (could be more with Costco? Not familiar with their policies) so keep that in mind.
Does this have the same batteries used on the premium models?

Absolutely a very good value but additional tidbit to think about…

Independent medical reviews, including a major meta-analysis published in the Journal of the American Dental Association (JADA), found that oscillating-rotating brushes provide statistically superior results for whole-mouth plaque reduction compared to sonic brushes.

I have an io7 series it's 3.5 yrs old never a single issue. Oscillation is better.. if ur happy with this then im happy for ya.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Tempted by this deal.

I'm about 10 months into owning an Oral-b iO (I was lured in by the lower prices and the fact that my Sonicares have always had the battery die after like a year and a half.)

I hate the Oral B with a passion. I don't care if the Sonicares die after 1.5-2 years or that the heads are more expensive any more. I pray for the Oral B to die every time I use it.

Just how much better is "statistically superior" though?

These are the new Sonicares with the new motor and design, fyi. They are outstanding, probably the best sonicares ever made, for real.
Can you provide any details on this? I am pretty curious ...

I tried oral b io and found the brush head was taken too big for me. Sonicare is smaller and easier to use IMO. The high amount of vibrations give a nice tingly clean feeling vs the oral b but that is purely my subjective observation

How does the toothbrush in the OP compare to the sonicare 4200 ?
They're around the same price currently.
Thank you.

The 4200 has a motor that produces half the amount of vibrations vs the one in the OP. Go with the OP 👍🏻
